Marcellus Responds to a motorcycle MVC

The Marcellus Fire Department responded to a motorcycle MVC with initial reports that the operator of the motorcycle is unconscious. 33C1 was first to arrive and requested all units to expedite, he also requested a medivac put on standby. The victim was transported by WAVES Ambulance. All units were cleared the scene by 2204 hours.


 
New Radio Training

New Radio System Training will be available for everyone on the following dates, Thursday 3-25 at 7 pm, Tuesday 3-30 at 7 pm and Thursday 4-1 at 10 am. Please try and attend at least ONE of these training sessions. This new system is going to alot different to use than our current system. So don't think that you can just pick up a radio and know what you are doing with it.


 
Engine 2 responds to Possiable Structure Fire

Engine 2 responded to a possiable Structure Fire at 0826 hours. When first due units arrived they reported that a local apple orchard was burning brush and failed to notifiy fire control. All units were returned at 0845 hours.


 
Marcellus Fire Responds to a Chimney Fire

Marcellus Fire Department responded to a chimney fire on West Seneca Turnpike. The fire was contained to the chimney and there was no damage to the structure. The crews quickly took the chimney apart and ventilated the structure. MFD was assisted by crews from Amber and Navarino along with tankers from numerous neighboring departments.

Marcellus Fire to a CO Alarm

Marcellus Ladder 33 responded to a CO alarm on Brewer Road. After searching the house with the gas detector it was found to be a faulty oven which was leaking natural gas. We evacuated the house, shut the gas off and called the gas company.


 
Marcellus Rescue responds to 3 car MVC

The Marcellus Fire Department responded mutual aid to the Mottville Fire Company for a three(3) car MVC. Mottville Car Three was first to arrive and confirmed dispatch and stated that heavy extrication would be needed. He also stated that he wanted Marcellus activated and a med-i-vac started.Marcellus was relocated to the Mottville Fire Station to stand by while the police agencies investagated the incident. Both victims were transported by ground. All Marcellus units were cleared by 14:30 hours


 
   
   
Marcellus Rescue responds to Otisco

At 0830 hours the Marcellus Fire Department responded to a barn fire, Marcellus Rescue responded as RIT with six members. Upon arriavil Marcellus status was changed from RIT to over haul because the barn was already on the ground. Marcellus helped with the removal of tin roofing material and assisted with extingushment. All Marcellus units were clear at 1015 hours.


 
Marcellus Fire Department Responds to a House Fire on New Seneca Turnpike

The Marcellus fd responded to a reported structure fire on New Seneca Turnpike. Multiple calls at time of dispatch. First arriving unit was the Marcellus PD and stated heavy fire and smoke. Marcellus car 2 (Chief Lanning) signaled 99 (working structure fire) and started box alarm. First due trucks on scene were Ladder 33 and Engine 2 from Marcellus. There was also mutual aid from Mottville, Skaneateles, Howlett Hill, and Camillus. Solvay FD stood by at the fire station to assits with any other calls. Tankers from Navarino, Elbridge, Amber, Otisco, Bordino, Owasco, and Sennett. Fire took approximately 50 mintues to knock down followed by extensive overhaul and an investigation.
